Most Populous Countries
The five most populous countries in 2019-2020 are China, India, followed by the European Union (which is not a country), the United States, the island nation of Indonesia, and Pakistan.

The Smallest Countries
Among the smallest countries in the world in terms of population are the island nations in the Caribbean and the southern Pacific Ocean (Oceania). The three least populated countries in the world are Vatican City, an enclave in Rome, Monaco, a principality on the Mediterranean coast, and an enclave within Southern France, and Nauru, an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.

The fertility rate of countries is sometimes stylized as reproductive health.
In the hit list of countries with the highest birth rates, the Top Twenty is taken by African nations. Even more African states crowd the Top Forty, exceptions are Afghanistan (22), Solomon Islands (28), Timor-Leste (38), and the Marshall Islands (40). [1][2]
